Yoga Instructor
Elizabeth began her yoga journey in her early 30s and has never looked back. She began with a home practice using a VHS yoga video before yoga studios even existed in the Kanawha Valley. Elizabeth continued her practice for years, knowing the healing it brought to her mind and body through the gentle asana flow she had learned. When life brought about a great loss, Elizabeth purchased a new yoga CD and found that yoga had even more poses and fun ways to relax, recharge and regroup. During this time, her daughter brought her a copy of the Bhagavad Gita and her real dive into the eight limbs of yoga began.
Relocating to Maryland, Elizabeth was able to join two different yoga studios and began to work towards her 200-hour teaching certificate. This was after practicing yoga on her own for close to 15 years. West Virginia called her back home and Elizabeth returned to teaching in public school and also began teaching at a local studio in Charleston and at a small church as well. Almost 30 years have passed since Elizabeth first stepped on her mat. Yoga became a parent, a teacher and a best friend in her life. She is more than grateful to share what humble knowledge she has gained with her fellow students of yoga at the Folded Leaf in her beloved home of Charleston, West Virginia.
